Bill and Peacha started making their famous "Between the Caramel Bar" in 1928. The business was started when the couple didn't have enough money to pay for their families gifts around Christmas time. Their solution was to use their secret family recipe, passed down through many generations to them, and sell the bars
at a local market. With Christmas just three weeks away the Bakersmiths' made one hundred dollars for their families gifts. They then became known for their
candy and had been asked numerous times to make more. In such a small town business was doing better than ever, which encouraged them to keep selling. The
word got out all over the town and the idea of buying a building to make and sell the candies became a dream. The dream soon came true and before they knew it, they were selling their famous candy their very own building.

The 21st Century
Today, the candies are rapidly selling and continue to be a family business. Being known as a small town candy company and having that traditional feel does
wonders for our advertising. Those features also play a toll on our selling as we mentioned we are a small town candy business so our candies aren't as
popular. But our regular customers are keeping us busy.
